Lead Abatement

As an experienced lead abatement contractor we have over two decades of experience in professional lead removal and abatement services.

Lead Abatement

Lead is highly toxic heavy metal that has been widely used in the manufacturing of paints before 1978. As a result, lead is pervasive in the environment and remains a danger in and around older buildings and in certain work environments. Evergreen AES is available to assist in determining the potential for exposure to lead and implement necessary steps for proper, certified lead abatement.

The most common avenues of exposure to lead include:

  • Dust from the moving parts of windows and doors painted with lead-based paint.
  • Lead-based paint on wood trim, wall, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, porches, stairs, railings, and fire escapes.
  • Soil contaminated with lead-based paint.
  • Work clothes contaminated with lead.

Certified Lead Abatement Contractors in Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio and Indiana

Lead abatement should only be attempted by persons certified competent in the removal of lead based paint. Common renovation activities like sanding, cutting, and demolition can create hazardous lead dust and chips by disturbing lead-based paint, which can be harmful to adults and children. Evergreen AES can assist in determining the potential for exposure to lead and the need for lead abatement during renovation, remodeling or repair.

Beginning April 22, 2010, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.

Evergreen AES has the personnel and expertise available to provide assistance in lead abatement projects of this type, minimizing the risk of exposure to our clients.
