Remediation
Environmental remediation is a term used to describe the removal of pollutants or contaminants found in the environment.

Environmental remediation can be applied to media such as soil, sediment, groundwater, or surface water for the general protection of human health and the environment. Remediation can also involve the removal of material deemed potentially hazardous to humans such as mold, asbestos, or lead.
With offices in KY, OH, TN, and IN, Evergreen AES provides environmental remediation services for all types of contamination and has successfully completed numerous remediation projects throughout the Midwest and Ohio Valley. The main purpose of environmental remediation is to restore sites or resources to levels that are safe for humans, animals and returns the environment to its original conditions.
Ex-situ methods involve excavation of affected soils and subsequent treatment at the surface.
In-situ methods seek to treat the contamination without removing the soils.
Environmental remediation technologies are many and varied but can be categorized into ex-situ and in-situ methods. Evergreen AES has performed bioremediation for numerous clients, providing environmental remediation of impacted materials that would have otherwise been untreatable.
In the United States, environmental remediation is generally subject to Preliminary Remediation Goals (PRGs) from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 9. Where no legislated standards exist or where standards are advisory, environmental remediation can be based on assessments of human health and ecological risks.
